Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) or Variable Speed Drives (VSDs) are essential for precise motor speed and torque control. These units take incoming AC power and convert it into a controlled frequency output, used across countless applications — from conveyors and pumps to compressors and machine tools.

Over time, VFDs can fail due to vibration, dust, metal shavings, heat, or harsh environments. Common issues include:

• Shorted AC input stages

• Overcurrent or undercurrent faults

• No communication with PLCs

• Encoder feedback errors

• Power stage or control board failures
